Quirky Christmas Tree Nail Art

Hi guys! Today I finally got around to doing some Christmassy nail art. I used good old Google to track down a design, as I knew there'd be plenty of festive patterns to choose from. This one caught my eye, as I was keen to try something a little untraditional. Don't get me wrong, I love the combination of reds, greens and sparkles at this time of year, but you can't go wrong with a bit of pink too, right?

Laura Ashley Imperial Bloom Nail Art

Hi everyone. Today I've created some nail art inspired by a Laura Ashley gift set I got for my birthday last month. The set contained lots of pampering goodies including creams, scrubs and a fragrance mist, all packaged in within a gorgeous box printed with hand painted birds and branches. I've actually been intending on doing a Christmas-themed manicure, but I reckon there are enough of those going around at the moment!

Dark Floral Nail Art

Hi guys. If you've followed my blog for a while you'll know that floral nail art is my ultimate fail safe. If I've got a big night out coming up I'll almost always go floral, simply because it's easy to achieve, you can use any colour combo, and you're guaranteed lots of compliments! This type of design is also great for when I'm feeling uninspired, which is exactly what happened today. Whenever I have a few hours spare (this doesn't happen often) my favourite thing to do is nail art, but sometimes I get a bit stuck for ideas. That's when good old floral nail art comes in!

Halloween Nail Art: Spider Webs (and a little surprise...)

Hi everyone. I've finally managed to find some time to do some nail art, and since Halloween is just around the corner, it only seemed right to do something a little scary. I did some arachnid-themed nails last year, but they were sparkly and cartoony. This time, I decided to do something a little less cute... But still pretty to look at, I hope!

Girly Baroque Floral Nail Art

Today I've created yet another floral manicure (oh so predictable!) I've switched things up a bit though, and included some baroque-style leaves/petals along with the daintier flowers. This manicure was really quick and easy to do, and I think the combo of blended pink, red and white strokes along with the bold black bits works really well.

Mosaic Inspired Nail Art

Hi guys. I've actually gone and done some nail art... Finally!

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen the picture of the big, shiny buddha I uploaded yesterday. It's one of the pieces at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and since I'm a magpie who loves anything colourful and sparkly, it was by far my favourite. I decided to do some nail art inspired by the sculpture, since I've never tried a mosaic design before and it's always been something I wanted to have a bash at. I also had some lovely little treats from Effect Beauty that were crying out to be used, so this was the perfect opportunity.

'Poppy Lilies' & Silver Shimmer

Hi guys! Today I went for one of my fail-safes... A floral manicure! I can't actually figure out what kind of flower this is meant to be, I just kind of made it up as I went along. I suppose it looks a bit like a poppy and also a bit like a lily (hence the name), but if you are aware of another flower that is resembles more closely, please let me know!

Ikat Tribal Nails Featuring Original Sugar Nail Jewellery

Helloooo! Today I'm going to try and ignore the huge elephant in the room (me having not done my nails in over two months and being a rubbish blogger) and share with you a long-awaited design. Given, it's not my best, but I'm pretty out of practise... It's a bit of a mix-and-match mani inspired by this jumpsuit, and I used Sinful Colors 'Snow Me White' and 'Black On Black' along with e.l.f. 'Mango Madness'. I also got to use this gorgeous nail jewellery from Original Sugar; these ones are the black tear drop gems* edged with tiny crystals. I absolutely love them and I'm so pleased they sit nicely on my little old nails, as most nail embellishments are far too big and bulky for me. They've only been on for a couple of hours so far but they feel pretty secure, so fingers crossed they stay put during a big girls' night out tomorrow - that's always a good test!

Floral Nail Art: Spring Flowers

Hi everyone! It feels so strange to be blogging again after a break. I never intended to stop; life kind of took over and I've had the busiest few months of my life! To cut a long story short, I very intelligently (not) decided to move house at the same time as starting a new job... It was hectic and stressful and crazy, to say the least! Anyway, I'm all settled in now (I'm back in Yorkshire which I'm VERY pleased about) and I love my new job (I now work at a media and digital agency in Leeds), and I've finally managed to steal a Saturday to dedicate to my poor, unloved nails. And what better way to make a comeback than with some bright, flowery, springtime nail art?!
